| Company was established 1965 by Mauno Kari, who invented the Multilevel Float Switch. At first the company name was T:mi Mauno Kari and it employed one person. As the business grew, the name was changed to Kari-Finn Ky. Kari-Finn Ky began to make itself the plastic parts it needed for the float switches. And as there was capacity left, it also began to produce plastic parts for other industrial companies in Lahti region. 1988 Kari-Finn Ky was divided into two companies: Kari-Finn Oy making float switches and its subsidiary company Muovisto Oy making plastic parts. | ||

Kari Float Switch was presented 1977 at International Inventors Fair in Brussels, and it was awarded Gold medal and Brussels town medal for a product being widely exported (all European countries, USA, South-Africa, and Japan). Since that we have expanded the area to Kenya, Australia and New Zealand. Today Kari-Finn Oy employees 14 persons and Muovisto 5 persons.

Kari-Finn Oys main product is Float Switch, a cable suspended floating cone which tilts as the liquid level rises or falls. At certain levels the contact (micro switch element) makes or brakes the circuit. Kari-Finn Oy produced year 2008 over 50.000 Float Switches.
| Silo switch is lighter than a normal float switch and it is used as high level indicator in grain storages. | ||

Mini Silo switch is an ATEX-approved, reliable and small (diameter 76 mm) switch which fits well in an environment where there is a danger of a dust explosion as high level indicator for piling materials.

An electronic level controller which bases on the conductivity of the liquid is called Electrode Switch EL-22 as it has three electrodes in the well sensing the liquid level. It is used mostly for preventing the deep well pumps from running dry.

Thermal fuse LS 90 is meant to be used in e.g. heating stations using oil as their energy source. There are two circuits in LS 90 of which one is used to control the oil burner and the other one makes the alarm. In case of fire the fuse will cut off the oil burner control circuit thus stopping oil pumping to the station. At the same time the other circuit makes the alarm. |

OLC-2
is a device for liquid level observing and controlling in potentially
explosive environments. OLC-2
senses the intensity of light coming back from the OLP
probe and determines the liquid level accordingly. The amount of light
returning from the OLP depends on the tilting angle of the OLP probe. The
probe senses three different liquid levels, which are set by the length of
the light cable and the position of the cable weight. OLC-2
doesn't require an Exi-isolator unit since there is no electrical
connection between the probe and the control unit. Therefore the device is
especially well suited for observing and controlling of flammable liquids. |
